Intergenerational Fairness: What’s at stake?

Young and old, we all have a stake in what the future holds and what we would like it to look like. The same applies to future generations – those who are not born yet.

To ensure that the rights of those present and yet to arrive are respected, we would like to hear from all age groups and actors to generate a meaningful intergenerational dialogue.

Throughout 2025, we’ll continue to work together on designing a strategy that truly reflects the needs of all generations. So don’t miss out on shaping the future.

Timeline

From February to December 2025, we will be designing the strategy, in co-creation with you.

  1. February - April
    Scoping

How is intergenerational fairness understood? What initiatives exist already?

  2. June - July
    Vision building

What do we want it to be? What for?

  3. August - September
    Strategy design

What are the functions, values, key needs and requirements?

  4. October - December
    Strategy co-creation

What does it look like? Where do we want to go?

Scoping Phase: Summary of Insights and Ideas

We are excited to share the progress made in the scoping phase, through which we identified the root causes behind the rising issues of intergenerational fairness, along with topical areas for action. The results of the scoping phase can be found in the documents section below.

Visioning Phase: Imagining Intergenerationally Fair Futures

As we move into the visioning phase, we invite you to imagine what an intergenerationally fair future could look like. Share your ideas about connecting with people of different ages and forging bonds with past and future generations. You will have time to submit your visions until the end of July.
